We asked our authors to write about a well-loved book, which they think more people should read.
Himanjali Sankar is the author of The Stupendous Timetelling Superdog and Missing: A Magnificent Superdog, about the amazing Rousseau who saves the world from the loss of time, and of Talking of Muskaan, a teen novel.
A random, joyful book that I read recently is Priya Parmar’s Vanessa and Her Sister which I absolutely recommend to anyone with even a tangential passing interest in Virginia Woolf (or any of the Bloomsbury group). Charming, gossipy, exquisitely-written (each member of the group, we now know, went on to become famous) – but this book is set in the period when all of them are young, irresponsible and very much like every liberal bohemian the world over. For fans of historical fiction, this is as good as it gets.
