Anushka Ravishankar: Confused Platypus

Anushka 3Like all platypuses, the Duckbill is also confused. Well, no more stories but a poem from Anushka Ravishankar, author of Moin and the Monster and Moin the Monster Songster, among many others.

I’m confused said the Platypus
It makes no sense to me
That fish should live inside the sea
And fruits grow on a tree

Why should birds be in the sky
And earthworms underground?
Why should noise be always sound
And circles always round?

It bugs me said the Platypus
That things thusly persist
It’s not that I’m a nihilist
I’m simply platypissed!
