Monstrously Good Reads

Of course the Moin books will get you addicted to monsters. To feed the monster addiction is fortunately not too hard as monsters run rife in books for children! Here are some of our favourite ones:
Because it is never too early to start off the little monsters on other monsters, we would recommend these for the really little ones:
Where the Wild Things Are Maurice Sendak
Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson
Mommy by Maurice Sendak (this is so beautiful though, that you might want to think twice before allowing grubby hands on it!)
Once your kids are nine or ten, these are the loveliest monster ones:
Monster Mission by Eva Ibbotson
The Odious Ogre by Norton Juster
Ghostbusters and the Muddy Monster of Doom by Cornelia Funke
These are the perfect monster books for tween and teenage monsters:
Coraline by Niel Gaimen
The Boy of a Thousand Faces by Brian Selznick
The Battle for the Labyrinth by RIck Riordan

And if they become monster addicts, start them off on these series:
Goosebumps
Beast Quest
